Yesterday, Xiaomi Inc announced the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Android Smartphone. The Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer is a special version of the latest flagship device from Xiaomi. This smartphone launched along with two other devices and enters the market on the 8th of July.
Also, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer sports a 6.21-inch display, and it’s super AMOLED. This device is the first Android device to feature 3D face unlock, using infrared light.
The Mi 8 Explorer also comes with a pressure-sensitive in-display fingerprint scanner. This allows the phone to unlock faster.

Design and Display
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer sports an aluminium frame and glass front/back. In this case, the back is covered with transparent glass. This device comes with a 154.9 x 74.8 x 7.6 mm (6.10 x 2.94 x 0.30 in) dimension. With a weight of about 177g.
This amazing Smartphone has a 6.21-inch Super AMOLED Capacitive touchscreen, with 16M colours and 83.8% screen-to-body ratio. Also, it comes with a resolution of 1080 x 2248 pixels, it has an 18.7:9 aspect ratio (~402 ppi density).
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer comes pre-installed with their flagship MIUI 10 user interface. It supports HDR10 display also. Furthermore, the screen of this phone is also protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass material.
The Mi 8 Explorer supports Multitouch too. With a pressure-sensitive in-display fingerprint Scanner, it comes in a transparent black colour.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer smartphone comes with the Android 8.1 (Oreo); Android operating system.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer is powered by a Qualcomm SDM845 Snapdragon 845 chipset with a 64-bit processor. It also comes with an Octa-core processor that is configured at (4×2.8 GHz Kryo 385 Gold & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 385 Silver).
In addition, it uses an Adreno 630 GPU for graphics handling.
This amazing smartphone offers 8GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt memory. Which can’t be expanded due to the unavailability of a memory card slot.
Other sensors on this device are Face ID, fingerprint (under display), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, barometer, and compass.
Camera and Battery
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer offers a Dual: 12 MP (f/1.8, 1/2.55″, 1.4µm, 4-axis OIS, dual-pixel PDAF) + 12 MP (f/2.4, 1/3.4″, 1.0µm) rear camera setup. With a 2x optical zoom, dual pixel phase detection autofocus, and dual-LED flash.
Upfront, there’s a 20 MP (f/2.0, 1.8µm), 1080p selfie shooter. Xiaomi used pixel binning to create larger virtual pixels, for an improved photography.
Also, other features of this camera include Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, and panorama.
As for the battery life, there’s a Non-removable Li-Po 3000 mAh battery. Also included is Quick charge 4.0, which enables more screen-time and less charging.
