Vivo Nex A Review (Full Specifications and Price)

Chinese handset makers Vivo yesterday announced two new flagship smartphones, the Vivo Nex S and Vivo Nex A.

Vivo Nex A sports a third generation rear fingerprint sensor that is more accurate and faster. Also, there’s an 8MP pop-up front camera that reveals itself only when you open the camera app.

In addition, the Vivo Nex A is more of a toned down version of the Vivo Nex S. And this device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Funtouch OS 4.0 on top. There’s a 6.59-inch Super AMOLED display with a Qualcomm SDM710 Snapdragon 710 SoC.

Design and Display

The Vivo Nex A smartphone has dimensions of 162 x 77 x 8 mm (6.38 x 3.03 x 0.31 in). With a weight of 199g.

The device also sports a 6.59-inch Super AMOLED Capacitive Touch-screen, with 16M colours. With a cool resolution of 1080 x 2316 pixels, there’s a 19.3:9 aspect ratio (~388 ppi density) present.

The Vivo Nex A has Multitouch features, with Vivo’s Funtouch OS 4. Also, it comes in two colours : Black and Red.

Hardware and Software

The Vivo Nex A Android smartphone comes with Android 8.1 (Oreo) operating system.

Vivo Nex A is powered by a Qualcomm SDM710 Snapdragon 710 chipset with a 64-bit processor. It also comes with an Octa-core processor configured at (2×2.2 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.7 GHz Cortex-A55).

Furthermore, it uses an Adreno 616 GPU for graphics handling.

This device offers 6Gb of RAM and 128 Gb of inbuilt memory. Also, the large RAM present means that there’s no card slot.

Other sensors on this device are Fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass sensors.

Camera and Battery

Vivo Nex A features a Dual: 12 MP (f/1.8, 1/2.5″, 1.4µm, Dual Pixel PDAF) + 5 MP (f/2.4), 4-axis OIS camera. Also, there’s phase detection autofocus and dual-LED dual-tone flash.

Upfront, there’s a Pop-up 8 MP (f/2.0) selfie camera.

There’s a Non-removable Li-Ion 4000 mAh battery. Also, there’s a fast battery charging 22W feature included.

Price

The Vivo Nex A Android smartphone sells for about 600 EUR. Which is equivalent to N251,372.
