The official Instagram app for Windows is missing one major function, you can’t upload photos to Instagram from your PC. You can’t upload photos from the website either.
That’s not cool, particularly when you want to post photos you took with a digital camera rather than a smartphone.
Or when you want to edit your pictures and videos using a PC software before uploading them.
Fortunately, there’s an easy way to get around it and upload pictures to Instagram from your Windows PC.
What you need is a Google account and a free Computer Program named “BlueStacks App Player”.
Follow me as i guide you through the downloading/installing process.
Download BlueStacks App Player
BlueStacks App Player is an Android emulator that enables you run Android Apps on your PC.
You can upload photos to Instagram from your PC using this software.
Download BlueStacks HERE
Install BlueStacks, and wait a few minutes. Because the engine will start for the first time.
Ignore the tutorial, make sure the correct language is selected and tap the arrow button.
Log into your Google Account
After BlueStacks App Player is installed, you’ll need to log into your Google account.
Tap ‘Continue’, then log in using your Google account. Go through the terms of service and, if you agree, Tap ‘OK’.
The next set of checkboxes are completely optional.
If you’re using BlueStacks only to upload to Instagram, then feel free to uncheck them all.
Tap the Next arrow, then enter your name. It’ll only be used to personalize some other BlueStacks apps.
Download the Instagram App from BlueStacks
After the app has installed and is now running, You’ll see a version of the Google Play Store.
Search for Instagram, select the official app when it shows and tap “Install”. The app will request access to information including your contacts and location. If that’s cool with you, tap”Accept”.
After some seconds, the Instagram icon will show under the My Apps tab. Tap it just once to launch the App.
Upload your Photos and Enjoy
BlueStacks will transform itself to the size and shape of a vertically-oriented smartphone.
Log into your Instagram account with your details. Then, your Instagram feed will appear as it would on a Smartphone.
Click the plus (+) icon at the bottom, then choose ‘Gallery’.
Furthermore, Tap the ‘Gallery’ menu at the top left and choose ‘Other’, then tap ‘Pick from Windows’.
Find the picture you want to upload, select it and click ‘Open’.
You can now edit the picture, add filters and a caption. Then, you can share it with your followers via the usual social networks.
