What is a custom recovery?
A good custom recovery is an essential tool for anybody that loves to modify their Android device. And TWRP recovery is probably one of the best out there. Meanwhile, there’s an official release from the TWRP team for the new OnePlus 6 and Huawei P20 Pro flagships.
Apart from those two, TWRP includes support for some new handsets like HTC Desire 830, Nubia M2, Planet Gemini PDA and Vanzo A315. In addition, all the old variants of LG G4 can use a unified recovery.
Please don’t forget that the installation of TWRP for OnePlus 6 is a little bit different than on the previous versions. This is because of Google’s Project Treble that includes A and B partitions. Ensure you follow these instructions:
- Setup ADB/Fastboot
Download the twrp-installer-enchilada-3.2.1-0.zip here.
Download the twrp-3.2.1-0-enchilada.img, again here.
Turn off your device.
Hold volume up + power button to boot into the bootloader.
Connect your device to your PC with a USB cable.
Open the command prompt on your PC.
Find the twrp-3.2.1-o-enchilada.img directory and type in fastboot boot twrp-3.2.1-0-enchilada.img
Once you boot into TWRP, you will have to install it by selecting the twrp-installer-enchilada-3.2.1-0.zip that you’ve downloaded earlier.
And that’s how you get it done. For questions, you can make use of the comment box.
