Sharp has just announced a latest addition to their Aquos R series… The Sharp Aquos R2.

Although the phone hasn’t been released yet, the already leaked specifications tell well of this phone. The Sharp Aquos R2 is the first Smartphone in the world to have two Dolby features at the same time.

Design and Display

The Sharp Aquos R2 dimensions are 156 x 74 x 9 mm (6.14 x 2.91 x 0.35 in). And it weighs 181 g.

The Aquos R2 also has a 6-inch WQHD+ IGZO IPS LCD Capacitive Touch-screen, with 16M colors. With a resolution of 1440 x 3040 pixels, it has a 19:9 aspect ratio (~561 ppi density).

This Smartphone supports Multitouch. With Fingerprint Scanner at the front of the phone, it has an IPX 5 – IPX8 / IP6X Certification. That means this phone is Water and dust resistant.

Hardware and Software

Sharp Aquos R2

The Sharp Aquos R2 smartphone comes with Android 8.0 oreo operating system.

The Sharp Aquos R2 is powered by a Qualcomm SDM845 Snapdragon 845 chipset with a 64-bit processor. It also comes with an Octa-core processor. Furthermore, it uses an Adreno 630, 4-Cores GPU for graphics handling.

This smartphone offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt memory that you can expand up to 400GB using a microSD card. Cool stuff right..?

Other features of this device are: proximity sensor, accelerometer and Dolby Vision.

In addition to Dolby Vision, it also has Dolby Atmos and supports Dolby AC-4 for an immersive audio experience. This makes it the world’s first smartphone to support both these Dolby features.

Camera and Battery

The Sharp Aquos R2 comes with  a 22.6-megapixel primary camera along with a 16.3-megapixel secondary rear camera.

These camera’s come with a 135-degree ultra wide-angle lens to shoot videos in 4K 2K (3840 × 2,160 pixels) resolution. There’s an AI live shutter support that will take pictures automatically during movie shooting.

Also, it boasts of other features like Geo-tagging, auto-focus, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama.

Meanwhile, for selfie lovers, there’s a 16.3MP front camera for nice and clear selfies.

The Sharp Aquos R2 comes with an amazing 3130mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery.
