DESIGN AND DISPLAY
The design is not all that different from its predecessors. The Samsung Galaxy M40 has a front glass and a glossy plastic frame and body. The phone is a fingerprint magnet and scratches quite easily but isn’t too slippery and can be used comfortably on one-hand. On the left side of the device is the hybrid dual SIM card and microSD card tray. The hybrid SIM tray can accommodate either two Nano-SIMs or a single SIM and a microSD card (up to 512GB).
On the right are the power button and the volume rocker which is placed a little too high and requires the user to stress the thumb to reach it. The bottom part of the smartphone plays host to the USB-C and the speaker. The Smartphone follows the recent trend as it lacks a 3.5mm headphone Jack.
At the back, is a triple camera setup and an LED flashlight which is line up on the top left corner of the phone. The back also houses a fingerprint sensor in the middle, and the sensor just like the volume rocker is placed a little higher than it should have been.
The 6.3-inch display has Corning Gorilla Glass for scratch protection and a 1080×2340 pixels resolution. Just like the Samsung Galaxy M30, it uses a PLS TFT LCD panel. The display is bright and vibrant and has good viewing angles.
CAMERA
The three rear cameras on the Galaxy M40 consist of a 32MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor.
On the front is a 16MP front-facing selfie camera that delivers good-looking images, and works decently well.
PERFORMANCE AND BATTERY
The main specifications of the Galaxy M40 are identical to the more expensive Galaxy A70. Powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor, with a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage which is expandable with a microSD card up to 512GB.
The Battery life of the Galaxy M40’s is okay. The 3,500mAh battery will last the whole day with regular use on a single charge.
The smartphone runs One UI based on android 9.0 Pie.
Galaxy M40 is priced at NGN 105,560
