Usually, as you start using the MEGA cloud, you should have the ability to upload different files and folders as you choose, that is, according to your preferences.
Just as you can upload files and folders, you can also download and manage them using the content when you need them. Better still, you can delete them to free up space. It is for this latter reason that I’ve written this article. Do well to read on!
Deleting Files Permanently On MEGA
When you delete a file or folder from MEGA, it’s no longer visible in your Cloud Drive. However, the file or folder is not permanently deleted until it’s cleared from your trash and usually not immediately.
First, your file or folder will be moved to your rubbish bin where you can easily find and restore it. Files will automatically be removed from your rubbish bin by the rubbish bin clearing scheduler. More conveniently, You can also manually clear your rubbish bin.

When files are deleted from the MEGA cloud, the rubbish bin must be emptied to complete the deletion process. To begin this process, click on the trash can located in the lower part of the left side Gray bar, being an icon of 3 arrows in the shape of a triangle.
Once this is done, the Trash of your account will open, having the files and folders previously deleted. To delete them from the trash, you must click on the empty trash option found in the upper right.
As against the previous opinion, Once files or folders are deleted from your rubbish bin, your recovery window is still not closed and there will be further opportunities to recover them using MEGA Rewind. This feature, however, is not yet in operation.

Pro users have retention of 180 days from the time a file or folder was deleted from the rubbish bin. Free users can still recover any files deleted from their rubbish bin within 30 days by upgrading to Pro.
When you delete a file or folder with a link, the link will automatically be disabled.
