Nokia 9 PureView launched on 25th February 2019 and was launched only in Midnight Blue color.
Compared to the folding phones and touchless UI, the Nokia 9 PureView first flagship of 2019, comes with a straight forward ambition. It merely wants to take the best promising photos ever logged by a smartphone. The back of the Nokia 9 sports an eccentric Penta-lens display of cameras, including a flash and a sensor, arranged in a neat hexagonal pattern.
The extra depth in a picture is due to the phone’s time-of-flight camera, which gives it the ability to capture over a thousand layers of depth when shooting portraits. That means your bokeh shots will look more realistic and looks like as though taken with a DSLR.
The only main visual difference between the Pixel and Nokia 9 is the camera app. it has several features not found in Google’s pixel camera, including an excellent manual mode.
It seems like every smartphone these days brags its camera is the best, but the Nokia 9 PureView might be able to justify it, even without a stunt
Aside from the colorful camera array, the Nokia 9 feels more like a mix of premium and mid-range.
Display and Design
The phone comes with a 6-inch touchscreen display; it has a glass front and back and an aluminum frame.
Nokia resists the trending notch design and still decides to keep its bezels both on the top and bottom of the display. However, the bezels are minimal as it houses the front camera, and the screen has rounded edges. Also, the display houses the (in-display) fingerprint sensor.
The glass back houses five cameras and a flashlight, as well as a microphone. The right side of the phone host the volume rockers and the power button, on the top, is the dual-SIM card tray, and on the bottom is the USB-C, the speaker grill, and the primary microphone.
Hardware and Performance
An octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor powers Nokia 9 PureView smartphone. It comes with 6GB of RAM and packs 128GB of inbuilt storage. Sadly, the phone’s storage is not expandable.
The smartphone runs Android 9.0 Pie which is powered by a 3,320mAh non-removable battery. The Nokia 9 PureView supports wireless charging. The Nokia 9 PureView is a dual (GSM and GSM) SIM smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards.
The Nokia 9 PureView on the rear rocks a five-camera setup which includes a 2x 12MP RGB primary camera, and three 12MP B/W camera all working simultaneously. The rear camera setup a TOF 3D camera and has autofocus. The smartphone has a 20MP front-facing selfie camera.
So the device has no ultra-wide camera or even a telephoto lens on the camera setup, and in fact, not one of the cameras are particularly innovative on their own, but they’re not meant to work alone. When taking a photo with the device, all five cameras come into play to capture up to 240MP of data. The images are then instantaneously fused into a single 12MP HDR picture (or a giant RAW one).
Connectivity options on the Nokia 9 PureView include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, Bluetooth v5.00, NFC, USB Type-C, 3G, and 4G with active 4G on both SIM cards.
Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor. The Nokia 9 PureView supports face unlock.
It features an IP67 rating for dust and water protection.
Nokia 9 PureView is priced at 215,000 naira.
