Earlier this week, HMD announced the new Nokia 5.1 Android smartphone. The Nokia 5.1 is a successor to the earlier released Nokia 5 and will be released by July. Also, this device falls into the mid-range category because of its low budget pricing. Meanwhile, this device has some few high-end features under its hood.
The new Nokia 5.1 features a 5.5-inch, 18:9 display with full HD+ resolution, an octa-core chipset, 2GB or 3GB of RAM, and 16GB or 32GB of inbuilt storage. In addition, there’s a microSD slot, a 16MP rear camera, an 8MP wide-angle front camera, Android 8.1 Oreo + Android one, and a 2,960mAh battery.

Design and Display
The Nokia 5.1 has its body wrapped in a premium metallic unibody. With a front glass and an aluminium body.
The Nokia 5.1 has dimensions of 151.1 x 70.7 x 8.2 mm (5.95 x 2.78 x 0.32 in). With a weight of 170g.
This device also has a 5.5-inch IPS Capacitive Touch-screen, with 16M colours. With a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels, it has an 18:9 aspect ratio (~439 ppi density).
This Smartphone comes as a Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by) model. And also has its screen protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass material.
There’s a Fingerprint Scanner located at the front of the phone, and it comes in three colour variants: Copper, Tempered Blue, and Black.

The Nokia 5.1 comes with Android 8.0 (oreo) + Android One operating system.
The Nokia 5.1 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P18 chipset with a 64-bit processor. Furthermore, it also comes with an Octa-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz.
This device also offers 2/3Gb of RAM and 16/32Gb of inbuilt memory. Which can be expanded to 256Gb using a microSD card.
Other sensors on this device are Fingerprint (front-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass sensors.
Camera and Battery
The Nokia 5.1 features a 16 MP (f/2.0, 27mm, 1.0µm) camera. With phase detection autofocus, dual-LED dual-tone flash.
Upfront, there’s also an 8 MP (f/2.0, 1.12µm), 1080p camera. This camera takes pretty good selfies that will wow your imagination.
As for the battery life, there’s a Non-removable Li-Ion 2970 mAh battery.
The Nokia 5.1 Android smartphone sells for about 200 EUR. Which is equivalent to N83,993.
