Huawei Nova 5 Pro
The Huawei Nova 5 Pro is the newest addition to the company’s Nova lineup. The phone is a mid-range offering laced with premium features. Starting with the display, the Huawei Nova 5 Pro boasts a 6.4-inches FHD+ OLED screen with a 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution and 19:5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the phone is powered by Huawei’s in-house HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor clubbed with 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM.
Huawei Nova 5 Pro smartphone launched on 21st June 2019 and came in Bright Black, Midsummer Purple, Forest Green, and Coral Orange colors. It bears a glass body.
Display and Design
The phone comes with a 6.39-inch OLED touchscreen display with a 1080×2340 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.
It has an in-display fingerprint sensor, meaning the display is under the screen.
It also has a glass back that houses the quad-camera setup and a flashlight.
The volume buttons and the power button is located on the right side of the device, and on the bottom is the speaker grille and the USB-C for charging and transferring files.
It is also essential to know that MicroSD card slot shares the same port with the second SIM card, meaning you can either have two SIM cards and no MicroSD card or have just one SIM card and use the second slot for the MicroSD card.
Performance and Battery
Powering the smartphone is a 1.8GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 256GB).
The Huawei Nova 5 Pro runs EMUI 9.1.1 based on Android 9 Pie and is a dual-SIM GSM smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Micro-SIM cards.
A Non-removable Li-Po 3,500mAh battery powers the handset.
Camera
As for the camera, the Huawei Nova 5 Pro packs four cameras on the rear of the device, which includes a 48MP primary camera, a second 16MP wide-angle camera and a third 2MP dedicated macro camera and a fourth 2MP depth sensor camera. The rear camera setup has laser autofocus. It also has a 32MP front-facing selfie camera.
Connectivity options on the Huawei Nova 5 Pro include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, Bluetooth v5.00, NFC, USB Type-C, 3G, and 4G with active 4G on both SIM cards.
Sensors on the smartphone include an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The smartphone, however, has no headphone jack and the in-display fingerprint sensor is impressive.
