And today, I’m going to reveal to you some fun activities that you can do while in self-isolation to kill time.

Living in a period when everyone is advised or commanded by law to stay indoors.
This can become very boring, but here are some things you can do to kill time during Covid-19 self-isolation:
- Teach your pet new tricks
- Reading
- Write
- Blog
- Take a nap or sleep
- Learn a new language
- Listen to music
- Reorganize your home
- Teach yourself to play a musical instrument
- Do some personal learning
- Become artistic
- Meditate
- Surf the internet

#1: Teach your pet new tricks
Do you have a dog at home, this could be a good time to teach them new tricks.
#2: Reading
Pick something and read whether it is fiction, non-fiction, magazines, spiritual guidebooks, newsletters, blog articles etc. Reading is one of the best ways to keep your brain active and kill time.
By reading, you can improve your vocabulary as well. Learn new words and get knowledge of alien topics.
Also, this could be a good time to catch up on those unread emails in your email box.
Try and clean up your email inbox, read all the emails that are necessary and delete those that are not.

Whether it’s a poem, song, joke, about your life and experiences, write them in your personal diary.
You don’t need to be great at writing to start – just build interest in it.

You can take your writing further by sharing it to the world through a blog. You don’t need to spend money creating a blog, there are free platforms like medium, blogger etc on which you can write on.
On your blog, you can share what you do to kill time, how you feel about life, what you read in a book, how to prepare your favourite dish etc.
If you don’t like the idea of a blog, there are different ways to express yourself to the world. You can start a podcast or a video blog.
#5: Take a nap or Sleep
You will definitely get tired and bored, and the best thing you can do is to go to bed so you do not consciously experience boredom. You can also do some daydreaming. Simply close your eye and imagine things in your head.
#6: Learn a new language
You can have fun learning even if it is the basics of French, Italian, Russian or German language.
There are apps you can get on your phone which you can learn a new language for FREE.
Some of the language learning apps are Duolingo, Memrise, Babbel etc
#7: Listen to music
Update your music playlist by asking your friends what is their favourite album is or they should recommend songs for you. Listening to music can make you relax and kill time.
You can also try to know the lyrics of the songs.
#8: Reorganize your home
This is a good time to tidy and organize the home.
Throw away old magazines, papers, piles of newspapers, worn-out clothes.
You can also use this time to scan important documents like educational certificates, professional documents and upload them to either dropbox or google drive. Also, send some of your files and your phone to an external drive to create space on your phone.

Get a musical instrument you can afford, lookup on free musical lesson on YouTube and learn how to play the musical instrument you bought.
Practice until you become really good at it.

Experiment with different items at home especially those you are not using anymore and try and be creative with them.

You can subscribe to Netflix and watch movies and seasonal films.

There are online communities such as Reddit, Quora, Nairaland which you can go out and hang out on them.
Answer people’s questions, engage in discussion or ask your questions on those platforms.
#15: Play games
You download games on your phone and play. If you have a gaming laptop or PlayStation, you can use those ones as well.
