Today, i wanna teach you how to watch videos from your Smartphone on your TV.
There are different ways of playing videos from your Smartphone on your TV. Some video streaming apps like YouTube will allow you cast video to their apps on your Smart TV.
Also, you can use screen mirroring to play videos from your phone on your Smart TV.
I’ll concentrate on these Two easy methods:
Casting to your TV
To achieve casting from your phone to your TV, follow these steps;
Open any video streaming app on your phone
Most popular streaming outfits like Netflix and YouTube support casting from your phone to your TV. You can download their apps from the respective app stores of your Smartphone.
Open the same streaming app on your TV
For you to cast to your TV from your phone, you’ll need to download that same app to your smart TV. Make sure the phone and the device you are casting to are on the same wireless network, don’t forget!.
Play any video
From your smartphone, choose and play any video using a streaming service that supports video casting.
Tap on the cast button
The Cast button is the icon that resembles a TV with a Wi-Fi symbol. Its in the lower-left corner, at the top of the video play back on your phone.
Select the device you want to cast to
Now, you’ll see a list of devices on the same Wi-Fi network that have the same app open.
After you tap the device you want to cast to, it will automatically load the video on your TV. Then, you will be able to control the playback options with your phone.
To stop casting, tap the cast button again, and choose “Stop Casting” in the lower-right corner of the popup window.

Screen Mirroring on Android
Most of you may have heard of “Screen Mirroring”, but have no idea what its about. Some Android phones support Screen Mirroring, while some don’t.
Allow me to guide you on how you can use Screen Mirroring on your Android. To do this, make sure your TV has Screen Mirroring as a source. And also ensure your Smartphone has Screen Mirroring features.
Open any Screen Sharing app on your Smart TV
Nowadays, most Smart TV’s have screen mirroring as a source that you can select. While other Smart TV’s may require you to open a mirroring app, such as Allshare .
Make sure the phone and the Smart TV you are casting to are on the same wireless network, don’t forget!.
Open your Gallery and navigate to a video
From your phone, enter your gallery and select any video you’d like to play. Tap the video to open it in full screen mode.
Touch the share icon
Tap the share button to open a list of options. The share icon is the button with three dots connected with a line.
Tap “View Content On TV” Button
This icon is at the bottom left of the screen. Different Phones may have a different name for screen sharing such as Screen Cast or Media Output.
Choose the device you want to cast to
At this juncture, you will see a list of devices on your wireless network that support screen mirroring.
Your SmartTV may ask you to allow the connection. Choose “Yes” using your remote. Your Smartphone will transmit it’s screen to your TV via your wireless network.
Do you want to stop mirroring?. Then, tap the screen mirroring or casting icon on your screen, and tap “Disconnect”.
