Televisions now play a crucial role in our daily lives by offering us news, information, entertainment, and an entryway to the internet.

However, your Tv may have little tweaks from time to

time, but this doesn’t mean that the Tv is bad or permanently damaged. It might just be one of the common Tv problems peculiar to many Tvs.

These flaws, which can range from poor picture quality to sound problems, can be aggravating and leave us wondering what’s wrong with our Tv and how to repair it.

In this article, we’ll highlight 9 common Tv problems and how to fix them, ensuring that your Tv will be able to live up to its expectations.

Common TV Problems and How to Fix Them

    1. TV Showing a Blue, Green, or Black Screen

Owners of TVs frequently experience this issue, but the good news is that a remedy is typically relatively straightforward. Your TV isn’t receiving a signal if it displays a colored screen instead of the program you are trying to watch.

Therefore, make sure the device you are trying to access is turned on and connected to the TV, and that you are on the correct input. Inspect your video connectivity to and from each device after that.

If you’ve made sure that your device is turned on, and that the cable connecting it to the TV is functioning, and you’re still not getting a picture, there might be a problem with your cable or satellite.

    2. Not Matching Audio and Video

Nothing is more aggravating than when you can see the lips of someone moving when you’re watching a video clip but can’t hear what they are saying.

This is a very common Tv problem that can be solved easily. So to remedy this, you want to go to your TV’s or cable box’s audio settings and change the “audio delay.”  When you do this, your television should be able to harmonize its audio and video.

    3. The Remote Isn’t Working

In this situation, it’s either a fault of the Tv or the remote. However, you can try a few different methods to determine whether the issue is with the TV or the remote.

First, make sure to check the remote’s batteries because this is frequently the issue when a remote appears to be damaged.

Once you’re certain the batteries are new, you can try a quick hack that uses your mobile device: Aim your phone’s camera at the remote’s end, then press a couple of buttons.

Through the camera, you ought to be able to see a light come on. If so, the TV is the cause of the issue; try moving it to a different power outlet to see if that resolves it. If you can’t see the light, your remote is the problem.

Although remotes do degrade over time, you can easily get a new one from the manufacturer online or have a custom remote customized for your system.

    4. LED, OLED, or QLED Screen Showing Lines or Cracks

Your TV’s screen having cracks and lines through it is another prevalent issue. You must determine whether the line is a result of actual screen damage or if something else is displayed incorrectly.

If your Tv still has a crack or line after changing inputs, your TV probably has to be replaced. It is possible to fix screens, but doing so can cost almost as much as buying a new TV, not to mention the bother of organizing the repair with a third-party provider.

    5. The TV Turns on But No Picture

There are several reasons why your TV can turn on but not display a picture.

The most frequent explanation is that your TV is set to the incorrect input. By pressing the “input,” “source,” or “TV/Video” button on your TV remote, you can change the input. To get your picture back, keep pressing the button to cycle among the inputs.

Make sure your cable or satellite receiver has been turned on and also that all of the connections are tight if you are using the right input but still don’t see a picture.

If you’ve already done that, your cable box might need to be reset by being unplugged and then replugged in. Also, you can try using a different device if it doesn’t fix the problem.

    6. Hearing An Echo

If you can hear an echo, you most likely have an external sound system, such as an audio bar or surround sound system, and you have both your TV speakers AND your external sound system’s volume turned up.

If you have a separate sound system, you don’t want to play the sound through the TV speakers as it will always generate an echo and the separate sound system you purchased is considerably more expensive due to its superior acoustic quality.

Use only your external sound system and disable, muffle, or drastically reduce the volume of your TV’s speakers to get rid of the echo.

    7. Not Getting Any Sound From The TV

If you’re not getting any sound from your Tv, then there’s no need to watch the Tv at all. Checking all of the cords once more should be your first step. Ensure that the HDMI cable is correctly linked to your TV and that the speaker cables are correctly connected to your speakers.

Once you’ve established this, the solution may be as simple as changing a setting. Verify that your TV is set to emit audio to any connected devices. You could want to try another cable or another device if it doesn’t work.

The problem is with your TV if the speaker functions properly for devices other than your TV, and vice versa if the internal TV speakers function properly but the speaker doesn’t.

    8. Picture is Pixelating or Breaking Up

You most likely have a weak signal if your TV picture is pixelating, breaking up, or cutting in and out.

To make sure that all connections are secure, check the connections from your wall to the cable box and from the cable box to your TV.

Overall, you must speak with your cable or satellite provider if you’re still having problems.

    9. TV Plays Too Fast

This common Tv problem is usually called the “soap opera effect”. This is the perception that something is moving too quickly or nearly as if it has been sped up while watching TV or a movie.

This occurs as a result of your TV adding extra frames to the content it is showing to smooth things out, but for the majority of people, this produces an image that appears almost “too real” and unnatural.

You’ll be glad to know that it’s simple to repair this; all you have to do is off-motion smoothing in your TV’s settings. This feature may be tucked away in different locations on different TVs, but if you locate it and disable it, your picture should appear more realistic.

    Conclusion

The options we’ve covered in this article can assist you in getting your TV back to working at its best, whether it be by tweaking picture settings, inspecting cables and connections, or conducting a factory reset.

Always remember that for detailed instructions, you should refer to your TV’s user manual or manufacturer’s support materials.

Finally, you can no doubt enjoy nonstop entertainment and get the most out of watching television by following the tips shown in this article.

    FAQ

What Causes the TV Display Problem?

The TV settings, broadcast signal source, cable/satellite box, IPTV, or other devices like a DVD player could all be at fault. The steps below will show you how to reset the picture settings on your TV if it has one.

Why is my TV Screen Blank?

A blank TV screen may result from the backlight burning out or ceasing to function. Make sure your TV is turned on before checking the backlight. After then, dim the room’s lighting and shine a flashlight at the television. With the flashlight, see if you can make out a picture. If so, your TV’s backlight is probably burnt out.

Why is my TV Screen Black but the sound is coming out?

It’s probably due to backlight issues. Images displayed on LCD screens are illuminated by a backlight. If there are any technical problems with the backlight, it won’t illuminate the display and the screen will be dark, but the user will still be able to hear background noise. TV owners must fix their backlights to resolve this issue.

Why won’t my TV turn on but have power?

The power cord might have slipped out of place or come undone. So, verify that your TV’s main power cord is correctly connected at the back, and also check to see that the main power plug is attached to a reliable and appropriate outlet as well.

How Do I Check My TVSignal?

An aerial tester is what you need to solve this issue. These compact tools are used by TV aerial installers to efficiently conduct aerial and signal checks. You may purchase a variety of cheap home aerial testers online or in electronics stores.
